MEMBERSHIP AND ADVANTAGES OF MEMBERSHIP
ALL artists across Canada and abroad who paint with dry pastels are welcome to become members of the Society, keeping in mind that paintings must be a minimum of 80% dry pastel.
Members may participate in THREE important EXHIBITIONS EACH YEAR, including
- EXHIBITION ”LES PASTELLISTES”
This is our annual Fall juried exhibition which is held in a prestigious gallery in Montreal. It involves a pre-selection jury of paintings to be entered. This exhibition includes awards and many activities for members and the general public to enjoy.
- EXHIBITION « PASTEL TOUJOURS”
This is our annual non-juried Spring exhibition which is open to all members, and it also includes awards. This exhibition is held outside of Montreal but within the province of Quebec in order to promote the art of pastel painting throughout the province.
- ON LINE EXHIBITION
Our latest addition to our exhibitions is our new online annual international exhibition.
Over the years, annual workshops have been held with our own PSEC Master pastellists as well as with reknown international Master Pastellists. These workshops provide continuing and advanced training for members who wish to improve their skills by learning from the best.
FREE WEB SITE SERVICES
Our website contains all PSEC “Pastel Post” newsletters sent to members by e-mail, as well as information about workshops, exhibitions opportunities, courses, and so much more.
The annual membership fee is $ 60. Membership renewal begins October 1st to December 31st. Membership must be up to date in order to participate in exhibitions. To print one’s membership card, enter your access code and follow the simple instructions also provided on the Website.
PSEC is primarily financed by annual memberships, a percentage of artwork sold at exhibitions, and support of our partners and sponsors.
PSEC is run entirely by volunteers and our success is entirely due to them. Member participation is of utmost importance and what keeps our Society alive and growing!
Without member participation we could not survive as a society. We rely on members who volunteer in PSEC functions, including the executive committee, and in preparation for and throughout our exhibitions.
