Biography of Jean- Pierre Pilon, pastel artist

Jean-Pierre Pilon began his career as CEO of the family business, followed in 1979 as a senior executive at la Régie des Loteries et courses du Québec., responsible for the organization of a new government agency whose mission is to administer the implementation of the rules governing lotteries and racing in Quebec.
Jean-Pierre Pilon will then occupy three different senior executive positions at the CSST from 1981 to 1985. Director of Communications, Director of the Department of Prevention in Longueuil Director of compensation & social rehabilitation for the territory of Longueuil.
Jean-Pierre Pilon joined his brothers in a telecom business in 1985 and then, in 1991 created a sales training school “École de la vente professionnelle” “School of Professional Sales” . That same year, he wrote and published a sales training book called “L’Art de vendre” “ The Art of Selling”. During 15 years, he gave sales training seminars and customer service training sessions accross Canada, in the Unites States and in France. He sold the training school in 2006 to his associated trainer Félix A Laventure and the school has never stopped its activities since.
Following the sale of his company, Jean -Pierre Pilon, retired and settled permanently in Nominingue.
Because of his management experience, he is immediately asked to take over the presidency of the Fabrique St Ignatius Loyola to identify solutions to the critical financial situation of the church and to the urgently needed repairs of the oldest municipal building. This position led him to create the St. Ignatius of Loyola Foundation in 2010 to mobilize the population and create a mean capable of raising the necessary funds for the survival of this church.
He has always been fascinated by art in general and he became interested in stained glass at the age of 30  and made ​​many projects using this medium. In 2012 , during a trip to Spain , he  experimented  pastel for the first time. Self-taught, he discovered the art of pastel through multiple projects and readings. In June 2014, he participated in a 3-day workshop hosted by Terri Ford, American master pastel artist of international renown. Terri Ford , originally from California, painted with pastels since 1987 , she was frequently the recipient of Carmel outdoor festival and is an active member of many associations including pastels : IAPS , Pastel Society of America, Pastel Society of the West Coast , Pastel Society of New Mexico, Sierra Pastel Society.
Jean-Pierre Pilon is, since early 2014 an active member of the Pastel Society of Eastern Canada and he exhibited for the first time 18 Pastels at "La Gare de Nominingue" in july 2014. At this exhibition, 12 of his Pastels joined 11 different private collections.
In july 2014, Jean-Pierre Pilon opens to the public its "art studio gallery" at 697 Chemin des Buses.
His 2015 new collection was presented again at " La Gare de Nominingue" in july 2015 and 5 of his paintings were presented at the "Festival de Peinture à Mascouche" in september 2015.
During this last exhibittion, one of his works "Le soleil se couche derrière la Ville" received the certification "Coup de Coeur de Michel Beaudoin"
Michel Beaudoin, painter was one of the 3 judges at the 2015 Festival.
In July 2016 he presented some works at the "Symposium  des Arts" Domaine St- Bernard in Mont-Tremblant and received a " Honorable Mention for its artistic boundaries. He also presented, with great success for the third consecutive year, his collection of the last 12 months at the Gare Nominingue.
All his works was presented during the months of September and October 2016 in Hachem in St-Jérome .
